MOSAB AMRANI continued his winning run with a close and exciting points win over tough Russian Evgeniy
Kurovskoy in Amsterdam.
Just two weeks after outscoring veteran Chris Van Venrooy, former WMC super lightweight
champion Amrani tasted victory again in an action-packed Friday Night Fight Night main event at The Sand.
Many spectators thought a back and forth welterweight fight should have been called a draw and gone
to a deciding extra round however as Kurovskoy took everything thrown at him and fired right back to emerge from his
first high profile fight in Holland with great credit.
Amrani made his usual swarming
start mixing speedy front kicks with gymnastic jumping knees - and the strike pictured above cracked Kurovskoy's
gumshield in three places and left Amrani with teeth marks on his left knee cap.
Kurovskoy
simply shrugged it off and got stronger as he came alive in the second round and scored plenty of points in
the third round only to see Amrani get the nod.
Amrani
fights at The Sand again on December 18 in what looks set to be another blockbuster against his good friend and fellow young
gun Mohamed Khamal, who faces Artur Kyshenko at the K-1 Max Final 16 in Seoul this weekend.
The show is being
co-promoted by Amsterdam Fightclub and It's Showtime.
Kurovskoy's Chakuriki
Gym stablemate Frank Munoz fared better with the judges, taking a decision over Thiago Martina to win a four-man
heavyweight tournament.
Fikri Tijarti's younger brother Zakaria, 18, also stood
out as he got the better of Luckey Brobbey on points.
